Petitions here are civic instruments, not campaigns. Each one names a single action, the office responsible, and the public records behind the request — then keeps a permanent account of who asked, when it was delivered, and what came back.
How a petition works
- Step 1
A citizen writes a request
Every petition names one specific action and the office responsible for it.
- Step 2
Constituents add their names
ZIP codes are checked once against public district records so constituent support can be counted separately.
- Step 3
The record is delivered
Petitions become a constituent brief with signature counts, sources and the full text of the request.
- Step 4
Any response is published
Statements, votes or hearings connected to the petition are recorded on the same page.
